The University of Jos Management has announced 20th September 2016 as the new closing date for 2015/2016 Students Registration exercise of the University.
This was contain in a statement signed by the Administrative Officer 11, Vice Chancellor Office, Mr. Haruna Sunday Dauji. Mr. Dauji stated that the initials date of 30th August 2016 was extended to 20th September 2016 is due to request from the Students Union Government(SUG) of the University.
He further advise students yet to register to take advantage of the extentiton to complete their registration.
University of Jos ALUMNI Association has concluded plans for her Distinguished Alumni Lecture to be deliver by Dr. Tom Adaba Former Director General, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and a Veteran Broadcaster. according to statement signed by the director Alumni relations, Mr. Samuel Mwansat said Dr. Adaba will be speaking on the Topic: Broadcasting: My personal reminiscences”.
He added that the Lecture series which started in 2006 with a number of Alumni who have grace the event in aimed at bringing back alumni of the University who have distinguished themselves in their various fields to talk to current student as a way of mentoring them.

The Vice Chancellor of University of Jos Prof. Seddi Sebastian Maimako as reinstated His administration commitment to move the Institute of Education to its permanent site at Kunga Naraguta for more conducive learning environment for Students.
Pros Maimako made this known at the matriculation of the B.ED part time Students of the University, held at the University Auditorium, Faculty of Law on Friday.
He admonished the matriculates to desist from registering with false certificate; avoid examination malpractice, cultism and any other act that could lead to expulsion. while urging them to focus on their ultimate objectives of being in the University, Prof. Maimako emphasized the need to maintain a high level of security consciousness and imbibed the culture of washing of hands.
The management of the University of Jos has expressed deep surprise at the sudden declaration of strike action by the Academic Staff of the institution.
The Registrar of the University, Barr. Dajuma Jilli-Dandam, explained that management was taken by surprise because the union did not intimate them on their demands and grievance before embarking on the strike.
Barr. Dandam however said management, upon receipt of the letter of strike declaration by ASUU, wrote back, requesting for a comprehensive detail of the lecturers demands in order to ensure quick and effective resolution of the issues.
The Registrar expressed optimism that the issues will be resolved as soon as possible for academic activities to continue unhindered.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) University of Jos Chapter has commence total, indefinite and comprehensive strike beginning from 12 mid night of Thursday 22nd October 2015.

The law students society, University of Jos is set to organize a one day academic retreat for the hundred level students of the faculty
The hundred level class representative, Emmanuel Thomas, in an interview with Mc Sabisabi blog, said the retreat which will take form of orientation for the students, is aired at inspiring them on the rudiments of their proposed profession and essentials for emerging successful in their academic pursuit.
According to Thomas, the event is scheduled to take place on the 2nd of December by 10:00am at the law auditorium University of Jos.
Also a student, Mwaret Felix, said the retreat also feature the presentation of awards to both lecturers and students of the faculty
Students of University of Jos have been asked to stop the mutilation of books in the school library.
An attendant at the Bauchi Road Campus library, Mr. Geoffrey Mankwat who made the appeal with Mc Sabisabi blog, Thursday, said that some students have formed the habit of tearing relevant pages off some text books there by rendering the books useless for further use.
Mr. Mankwat further said that the university does not permit such acts and will henceforth take serious actions on those caught in the act.
He further urged all to use the facilities in the library as though they were their personal property, saying maintenance of such will ensure good maintenance habits amongs all.
The management of the University of Jos says it is yet to commence the sale of post graduate admission forms for the 2016/2017 academic session.

The statement indicates that the attention of the management has been drawn to the activities of some syndicates who are extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of selling to them the university’s post-graduate Admission forms.
Management therefore wishes to state that the institution has not commenced the sale of postgraduate admission forms
The Vice Chancellor, University of Jos, Prof. Hayward Mafuyai will on 21st September, 2015, participate in a novelty football match as part of activities marking the 40th anniversary and 27th /28th combined convocation of the institution.

Mr Ibrahim who gave the line of events said the novelty football match will feature the management men vs. management women which will include the Vice Chancellor and his team by 3.30pm and final by 4.30pm at the bauchi road campus.
others include a football match between the faculty of Law and Education at the bauchi road campus by 2.30pm while the Faculty of Natural Science will battle Faculty of Management Sciences on the pitch by 4.30pm on 18th Friday, September respectively.
the chairman, further, disclosed that a volleyball match will hold between staff and students at the Naraguta campus by 3.30pm and Basketball match between the University of Jos team and the Plateau peaks at 4.30pm on 19th September, 2015.
Climax of the event will be on the 24th September 2015, with a friendly match between staff and students of the University at the Bauchi road campus by 4:00pm.
